I Spy with my Little Eye…

We’ll use our senses to explore and discover the world around us.  Join us for scavenger hunts on the farm, in the forest, on the ground, and up in the sky.  Each day will be an exciting adventure and children will be amazed by what their observational skills can find. Each child will be able to come home and discuss what they found. Children will also learn how to create a scavenger hunt and make it their own.

Session 5: July 29-August 2

Read & Roam

Back by popular demand, children will explore and connect with literature through some of their favorite animals on Heckscher farm and in the forest. Children will be able to relate to literature by getting up close and personal with  real wildlife. Younger children will create art from natural materials gathered on their adventures. Older children will draw pictures and maintain journals. This hands-on experience will serve to pique your child's interest in science and nature and appreciation for the wonders of life.

Session 6: August 5-9

How Does Your Garden Grow?

Join us and see what types of things we get from the farm. Remember “No Farm, No Food!” Come get your hands dirty in our organic vegetable garden. Learn how plants grow, where our food comes from, and how animals get their food in the wild. Plant seeds, harvest a crop, learn about the parts of a plant, and make a healthy treat to take home. Have fun exploring all the wonders of Heckscher Farm!
