Drawing, Still Life Drawing and Introducing Basic Figure Drawing – Pencil, Charcoal, Pastels, Ink & beyond

This class will explore value, perspective, gesture, still life, portraiture and quick sketch. Contemporary/Modern approaches and techniques will be introduced and encouraged.

Welcoming new artists of all abilities and welcoming back old friends. A continuation of our awesome fun still life drawing class with the addition of life drawing (clothed model). Working in charcoal, students will practice quick gesture drawing and move into longer poses. Using light and shade with an emphasis on composition. Learn the basic planes/forms, proportions and anatomy of the human figure. Focus on a combination of classic drawing skills and contemporary influences. Variety of materials and techniques explored.
