Investigate how nature has achieved flight in different ways by learning about birds, insects, and others.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

For centuries, people have marveled at the creatures around them with the ability to soar through the air.

Investigate how nature has achieved flight in different ways by learning about birds, insects, and others. Explore the science of flight including aerodynamics and basic physics as you apply these concepts to craft your very own glider. Put your new knowledge to the test when we send our creations soaring from the Main Center balcony.

For Children Grades K-5

Our weekly-themed camp programs provide a unique place for your child to explore the outdoors during their summer break. Campers build a deeper connection to the natural world through fun, experiential activities while exploring our 285-acre Main Sanctuary, which includes a beautiful teaching pond, the Byram River, Mead Lake, forests, and meadows.
