Join Environmental Educator Carl Heitmuller for a series of guided nature walks! Groups are limited to 20 people. Please note: Masks and social distancing required at all. Restrooms will not be available. SPRING 2021 *April 11th- Searching for Salamanders: Join in for a fun filled morning of salamander identification and natural history. We will meet one of our resident salamanders and then go in search of these beautiful amphibians. In the past we have found Red-Backed and Spotted. *April 18th- Turtle Time: Come meet some of the Nature Museum’s ambassador turtles and learn about their amazing adaptations that has kept them around since before the dinosaurs. Followed by a stroll down to our ponds to see if we can spot some of these reptiles basking in the sun. *May 16th- MEMBERS ONLY Kids Fishing Day: This program will educate you on fish anatomy and fishing safety. Then we will try our luck at landing a whopper! (Catch and release only) So dust off your rod and reels and find a bobber and hook. We will provide the bait. In order to accommodate as many children as possible, we ask that the number of adults in each group do not outnumber the number of children in each group (For example- 1 adult:1 child, 1 adult:2 children, 2 adults:2 children, etc. is fine. NOT 2adults:1child, 4 adults:2 children, etc.) *May 23rd- How to Catch a Dragon! : We will search for Dragon Fly larvae in our ponds and try our luck at catching some allusive adults zipping around with our sweep nets. Longtime Educator Carl will teach his tricks on how to catch a DRAGON(fly)!
