A week-long session of the overnight Summer in Farmington program for middle school girls. Summer in Farmington provides girls with the opportunity to live and learn together on the Miss Porter's School campus in Farmington, CT.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

Through Science in Our Backyard, girls are empowered to lead in the interdisciplinary field of STEAM (STEM+Art). They participate in exciting interactive activities in technology, design, and art while exploring the natural history of the greater Farmington area, taking almost daily walking trips to the Farmington River banks and local garden plots. Field trips include the Connecticut Science Center, the Institute for American Indian Studies, and Sub Edge Farm, a biodynamic organic farm. Girls ultimately undertake a project applicable to the local community and complete the program with a better understanding of sustainability and impact.
