Summer Musical Theater at The Rye Arts Center (Ages 8 - 13)

In these week-long workshops, students will learn shortened versions of scenes, songs, and simple choreography - all from some of the greatest Broadway and Disney productions. Students will get a chance to experience the world of theater by exploring their talent through acting, singing, and dancing. A presentation is held each Friday at 3:00 pm for family. Daily attendance is required in order to make each presentation successful.

Week One: Aladdin, July 24 - 28
When street rascal Aladdin frees a genie from a lamp, he finds his wishes granted. He soon discovers that the evil unleashed has other purposes for the lamp.
Week Two: Beauty and the Beast, July 31 - Aug. 4
Belle, a beautiful young woman is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. In spite of her fears, she becomes friends with the castle's enchanted staff and comes to realize the kindness that is within the Beast.

Week Three: Lion King, Aug. 7 - 11
Simba, a young and adventurous lion must take on his role as the rightful king of his homeland which is situated in a beautiful region of Africa.
