Spotlight On... line!

Live Online Performance Opportunities

Theatre is alive and well, even when we're not allowed outside! This is a unique opportunity for your young performer to participate in an all-online production!

Audition for, rehearse and perform an entire theatrical production - all online!

The first session will hold auditions for placement within the cast (audition scenes will be distributed ahead of time along with an instructional video). Two more rehearsals will be held with the entire cast. Each cast member will also have a one-on-one online coaching session with the director. Costumes will be created. Sets will be constructed - either physically or virtually! Then audience members will be invited to the final performance.

All online! Cast members will also learn about the technology of performing in a virtual environment.

Open to all performers within the specified age group. Performers do not have to be "Spotlight Kids". They don't even need to be from the Rochester are!

When the town of Smorgasbord is forced to close the public school system and rely on a motley crew of parents to homeschool all the children, the parents are thrown for a loop. Realizing that none of them are remotely qualified to teach a full course load, the parents decide to divide and conquer the subjects, resulting in a lecture on eighteenth-century European society delivered by a clown, a drill sergeant baking pies in Home Economics, and a lady who's had way, way too much caffeine zooming through 200 years of US History.

PERFORMANCE:
Friday June 12 at 7pm

A casting director has one day to find an actor to fill the role of a lawyer in a crime procedural. But what seems like a simple task proves impossible when the pool of actors includes stage thespians who can't tone it down for the screen, performers completely unable to keep themselves in frame, and an actor who seems to believe this is a toothpaste commercial. Vote for who you think should get the role when you step behind the doors of a casting session in this hilarious comedy.
