White Plains Youth Chess K-12 Mini-Tournament
The NSCF produces scholastic tournaments to encourage students to put their chess knowledge to the test. The White Plains Mini-Tournament is a fun, unrated chess tournament open to students in K-12. Each section is only 2 hours long so it’s great for kids to get their first taste of competitive chess or to have some fun competition.

The White Plains Mini-Tournament is a fun, unrated chess tournament open to students in K-12. Each section is only 2 hours long so it’s great for kids to get their first taste of competitive chess or to have some fun competition.
From 10 am till 12 noon the competition is for K-5 elementary students. From 12 noon to 2 pm, it’s open to middle and high school students.
The tournament is held outside at Library Plaza, unless there’s rain when we move indoors.
Entry fee is $20. Produced in partnership with the City of White Plains Parks & Recreation.
