Winter Family Fair at The Morgan Library & Museum

Celebrate the holiday season at the Morgan’s Winter Family Fair on Sunday, December 10 at 2PM with a day of free family activities included with museum admission; the Morgan is free to children 12 and under. Every December the Morgan displays the handwritten manuscript of Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol, the only draft the author made of this timeless classic. Westchester’s Winter Wonderland Drive-Thru Holiday Light Extravaganza Returns to Kensico Dam Plaza Bigger and Better Than Ever! Westchester’s Winter Wonderland Drive-Thru Holiday Light Extravaganza, presented by Westchester Medical Center Health Network, will return to Kensico Dam Plaza bigger and better than ever with thousands of more lights and magical holiday animations. Guests will be dazzled and delighted along the 1.2 miles of holiday lights by several new additions for 2023 including: a new character – Snowball the Elf – who will be interacting with children of all ages from the Ice House, kept cool in the breeze of Old Man Winter. Other brand-new additions include The Transporter Tunnel- a 175-foot-long glowing string tunnel with a central stargate running along the middle, and Rudolph's Runway– colorful light tubes ushering you into and out of the north pole, and more electrifying lights surrounding the largest holiday Christmas tree in Westchester! Fan favorite Santa returns in a beautifully decorated snow globe, for the grand finale, guests will be able to make their New Year’s wish upon a new thirty-foot glistening star that will be featured at the end of the interactive show.

“Glow Wild” Lantern Festival - Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo

Continuing through December 2, “Glow Wild,” a brilliant, illuminated Lantern Festival will be held at the Zoo Thursday through Sunday evenings. This incredible evening festival will showcase more than 40 large scale illuminated sculptures. The festival will run from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Timed tickets should be purchased online at beardsleyzoo.org in advance. A small number of tickets may be available at the door, depending on capacity. Donuts, pretzels and beverages will be available at the café’s side window. Adult tickets (12+) are $22., and children (11 and under) are $20. Children under three and adults over 75 are free. Wheelchairs and strollers will be available to rent. NOTE: there will not be a Glow Wild Lantern Festival on Thanksgiving night, Thurs, Nov. 23.

Shop The Studios - Art in Dumbo

Artists in DUMBO will open their studios to the public to sell their art on Saturday, December 2, from 12 - 5pm. Shop the Studios is an opportunity for locals and tourists alike to connect directly with artists working in DUMBO, Brooklyn, explore their studios, and take home an original artwork priced for the holidays. Visitors should stop by the Shop the Studios information table at the DUMBO x Brooklyn Flea Holiday Market in the archway to pick up a map of open studios and learn more! The event was organized by the DUMBO Improvement District and Art in DUMBO and is happening in coordination with the DUMBO x Brooklyn Flea Holiday Market. Free and open to the public.
