Capitol Debate Summer CampsCapitol Debate is proud to announce its 40+ Summer Debate Camp locations in the United States this year.
You can count on Capitol Debate to help your child to build communication and critical thinking skills, which leads to better academic performance.
The curricula of our middle school debate camps aim to equip children with the ability to structure arguments, prepare debate cases, research evidence, write rebuttal briefs, deliver speeches and refute opponents.
Not only will Capitol Debate students learn debating skills; they will feel an increase in self-worth, learn critical thinking skills and improve communication with their peers.
Many of our former campers have gone on to participate in national debate tournaments and enroll in prestigious universities (UCLA, Stanford, USC, and Harvard to name a few).
You will find more details about our Camp Locations here: https://www.capitoldebate.com/about-our-locations/
Debate Camp is built for the eager learner in grades 5 to 11, who has an emerging interest in the wider world. We help build the highly transferrable skills of persuasive speaking, parliamentary debate and dialogue on the important and interesting matters of our time.
No previous experience is necessary. We provide training in:
• how to build a convincing debate case
• how to collaborate well
• how to carefully refute opponents’ points
• how to analyse and weigh evidence
• how to deliver speeches clearly and convincingly to a variety of audiences
Our program features parliamentary debate, persuasive and impromptu public speaking as well as a Model UN simulation. Our camps are a welcoming and safe place to develop new and valuable skills and most importantly we maintain and fun and engaging approach to all that we do. Join us in 2019!
Families can find us throughout June at Greenwich Academy in Greenwich, CT. and The Hewitt School in New York. Enroll early, space is limited.
