Adventure Boat Camp

Adventure Boat Camp introduces young people to the natural wonders of the Hudson River, builds their boating skills, and gives them a taste of adventure. Programs are hands-on, learning expeditions with sailing, paddling, fishing, swimming, island hopping, and treasure hunting part of the regular weekly activities. Teamwork, empowerment, environmental responsibility, and personal safety are all baked into the routine of the day.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

A combination of sailing and paddling, Adventure Boat Camp is an all-inclusive, curriculum-driven experience for kids. Campers will experience paddling and sailing on the Hudson River while learning to navigate, observing local ecology, tying useful knots, and perhaps catching a fish. Join our experienced captains aboard our private fleet of vessels while exploring deserted beaches, hiking across uninhabited islands, having fun, and creating life-long friendships.

This camp program weaves together Cheryl and Nick’s deep knowledge of local history and ecology, and their breadth of maritime experience with their passion for connecting kids to the outdoors. Our captains have decades of experiences on the Hudson’s waters and with students of all ages.

In one week, our campers gain first hand experience with boating traditions used over the past thousand years. Boat technology, navigational techniques, and ecological connections changed through time, and Adventure Boat Camp follows this historical progression.
