Guided by seasoned captains with decades of expertise, campers dive into local history, ecology, and maritime traditions while developing essential boating skills. This week-long, student-led expedition emphasizes teamwork, environmental stewardship, empowerment, and safety. Through interactive learning and exploration, participants gain a profound appreciation for the river and the boating practices passed down through centuries.
Adventure seekers come back year after year! As one parent explained, "A sense of confidence and feeling of pride was palpable every day- after braving a sudden thunderstorm (safe out on land, paddling back after), conquering a fear of jumping in the water at all, maneuvering around a moving boat, and feeling something bigger than himself... my child was totally zonked and happy after every day!"
