The YMCA Camp Weona Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program is a transformative leadership experience designed for teenagers who are ready to take the next step in their camp journey. This immersive program equips participants with essential skills in teamwork, communication, and responsibility while fostering personal growth and confidence.
CITs learn through individual experiences while working closely with experienced counselors and camp staff, gaining hands-on experience in leading activities, mentoring younger campers, and managing daily camp responsibilities. Through interactive workshops, team-building challenges, and real-world leadership opportunities, participants develop a strong foundation in youth development and camp operations.
But this isn’t just a training program—it’s an unforgettable experience. CITs still take part in classic Camp Weona traditions while they play in activities that they get to plan for camp, support counselors with cabin groups, and build on their camp friendships that make summer magic last long after August ends.
Perfect for teens looking to enhance their leadership abilities, build lifelong friendships, and make a positive impact on others, the CIT program is more than just training—it's a pathway to becoming a role model and future camp leader. Join us at YMCA Camp Weona for a summer of growth, learning, and unforgettable memories!
