Discover the leader within! YMCA Camp Weona's Leader-in-Training (LIT) program is a dynamic and immersive experience designed for teens eager to build leadership skills, develop confidence, and make a positive impact. This program is perfect for young leaders who are passionate about learning, mentoring, and contributing to a thriving camp community.
Participants will learn through group work while engaging in hands-on activities, team-building exercises, and mentorship opportunities while learning essential skills such as communication, conflict resolution, and decision-making. Guided by experienced counselors, LITs play an integral role in planning and supporting camp activities, fostering connections, and creating memorable experiences for younger campers.
But don’t worry—this isn’t all “serious business.” LITs still get to be campers! They’ll enjoy classic Camp Weona traditions, campfires, swimming, team challenges, and plenty of moments that turn into lifelong memories. It’s the perfect blend of independence, responsibility, and good old-fashioned summer joy.
