Using stories and drama exercises to gain an understanding and appreciation for animals indigenous to our area, express understanding through creative process and performance, and expand vocabulary pertaining to nature and the environment.
Each week we will focus on a different animal (Coyote, Rabbit, Deer, Bear, Crow, and Fox), learning through interactive stories and fables. We will look at pictures, pet live animals (when applicable), and learn about their habitats and lifestyles.
Students will design and construct simple costumes highlighting significant features of the animal and act out the story. Take a short hike through the easy loop with a focus on the weekly theme.
Students should bring a water and a snack.
