Introduction to Street Art for Teens
For ages 9-12 yrs
Let’s go creatively Wild in our fun “ Street Art Class”. Teens dive into a range of exciting multimedia taking inspiration from cool New York city street artists like Basquiat, Keith Haring as well as contemporary international artists like the ever cool Bansky! Every week we will pick a different street artist and study their unique style and then learn how to apply these techniques to our own creations. We will work with silhouettes, take inspiration from emoji styles, word based art, poster art, sticker street art, chalk art, graffiti tagging, guerilla art, splash lettering, stenciling and more! Make your pieces come alive with cool collaging and neon paint colors and spray paint ( non-toxic of course). Students are welcome to bring in objects or pieces from home that inspire them to work on, old trainers, t-shirts or tote bags. Roll up your sleeves and wear clothes to create in, that you don’t mind mucking about in! This is exploration is not to be missed and taught by famous Brooklyn Street Ralphy Tatu!
