IN-PERSON Foundation Art: Drawing & Painting for Teens

Meets Sundays @ 12pm-2pm in-person at our studio in Dumbo, NY

Suitable for 9-14 yrs

For Teenagers who are starting to discover the joy of art. In this full class course, you will devise several paintings under the guidance of a professional tutor, hone skills & techniques. Discussion & demo on artists techniques, both contemporary & from history, look at painting applications and pick up fun professional tips perfect for future artistic endeavors. This class is suitable for complete beginners or for those who have taken one or two classes and want more! The class course will begin with preliminary drawing exercises before going into painting. Final projects will culminate in a finished piece. Please note if you are only signing up for an individual class- you may not finish the project in one session, as painting requires more time.

Art supplies are included in fee. However we do not supply large canvas, if you would like to work on a large canvas please bring with you to class.

 

PLEASE NOTE While we do offer individual class sign up options in this course, it is primarily for those with tricky schedules or those who want to choose their own calendar dates or who have missed the start of the course. We strongly encourage everyone to sign up for a full class course. It is the only way to learn skills in this media. If you are signing up for one individual class, this will only serve as a taster session or introduction, it is not possible to learn these crafts in a two hour session. Please be patient and manage your expectations, you may not finish your project in one lesson.

 

Please note, this is an in-person session held at our studio location in Dumbo. Please note during the current COVID-19 crisis, we recommend drop off for all students.

  • All students attending must agree to cooperate & abide by our safety guidelines as outlined by NY State.

  • The wearing of Masks is mandatory to cover nose and mouth at all times during the session. Masks should not be removed at any time during the session until outside of the studio.

  • Social distancing must be maintained at all times with a distance of 6 feet apart as recommended by NY State.

  • Any parent or guardian dropping off or picking up we advise to wait outside the studio as we limit our traffic in the studio.

  • We ask that only one parent or guardian drop off or pick up per student & to remain ouside.

  • Any parent or guardian who insists on entering our studio at drop off or pick up must wear a mask immediately upon entering our studio which covers nose and mouth.

  • All adult guardians must abide by the same safety guidelines we expect from our students.

  • Any parent or guardian who enters our studio must maintain social distance of six feet apart from all staff and students while in our studio at all times.

  • Please do not bring any non-essential items to our studio like toys or extra clothing, bicycles or scooters.

  • If you are bringing snacks or drinks with you please do not share these with any other students or staff.
