Join us in Hunts Point this summer as we explore one of the Bronx’s hidden gems — the beautiful Bronx River!
At camp, young people will build community, develop confidence, and learn new skills through hands-on adventures both on and off the water. Campers will learn to row together as a team aboard student-built wooden boats while exploring the Bronx River and observing the plants, animals, and ecosystems that make this urban waterway unique.
- Throughout the week, campers may participate in activities including:
- Team rowing and boating skills
- Environmental science investigations and river ecology exploration
- Wildlife and bird observation
- Water quality testing and scientific inquiry
- Woodworking and creative building projects
- Outdoor games, art activities, and team-building challenges
- Learning about the history and restoration of the Bronx River
Our programs encourage curiosity, teamwork, leadership, and a deeper connection to the natural environment right here in the Bronx. Whether campers are exploring the shoreline, using scientific tools to study the river, or working together on a hands-on project, every day offers a new opportunity for discovery.
Safety is at the heart of all of our programs. Campers are always supervised and wear U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jackets whenever they are on or near the water. Children of all swimming abilities are welcome to participate, and no previous rowing or boating experience is required — just curiosity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to try something new!
