Autumn Boat Camp offers day-long, recreational boating excursions for kids ages 8-13 onto the Hudson River from the port of Kingston, NY. Offering an experiential curriculum during school holidays in September and October, kids are introduced to life on the river through the lens of history, ecology, practical boating skills, and so much more!

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

Autumn Boat Camp, much like Adventure Boat Camp, introduces young people to the natural wonders of the Hudson River, builds their boating skills, and gives them a taste of adventure. This day-long fall program weaves together Cheryl and Nick’s deep knowledge of local history and ecology, and their breadth of maritime experience with a passion for connecting kids to the outdoors. Our captains have decades of experiences on the Hudson’s waters and with students of all ages.

Camp is student lead, hands-on, learning expedition. In just one day, kids gain first hand experience with boating traditions used over the past thousand years. Boat technology, navigational techniques, and ecological connections changed through time, and Adventure Boat Camp curriculum follows this historical progression. Teamwork, empowerment, environmental responsibility, and personal safety are all baked into the everyday routine.

Weather dependent, most day-long programs are a combination of sailing and paddling.
