Set in an old English town called Cheesebridge, a clan of quirky, mischievous creatures called the boxtrolls live below the streets where they have lovingly raised an orphaned human boy named Eggs. When the town’s boxtroll-catcher, Archibald Snatcher (Academy Award winner Ben Kingsley), captures Eggs’ boxtroll guardian, he decides to venture above ground where he meets and teams up with a high spirited girl named Winnifred. Together, they devise a daring plan to save Eggs’ family.
Following our screening of The Boxtrolls, join us upstairs in the Jane Peck Gallery from 2:00-4:00pm for fun, family activities featuring stop motion animation!
The day’s events include:
Create Your Character — Stop by our character creation station and flex your creative muscles as you craft your own paper or clay creatures. Draw, sculpt, and decorate your designs before you whisk them off to be animated.
Animate a Scene — Bring your carefully constructed characters to life using iPads and the magic of Stop Motion animation. Experience an art-form popularized by such cinema classics as Coraline, Fantastic Mr. Fox, and Wallace and Gromit.

Have Your Red-Carpet Moment— Break out your best pose and take a red-carpet photo! Post it to social media with the hashtag #JBFCKids for a chance to win free tickets and prizes.
