Hawk Watch Season Kickoff
*The event has already taken place on this date: Sun, 08/28/2016
Did you know that an average of 20,000 hawks, eagles, falcons, and vultures migrate over the Audubon Greenwich Quaker Ridge Hawk Watch every fall? Come join our hawk-counter Ryan MacLean as we kick off another hawk-watching season. Learn how we identify and tally raptors at Audubon Greenwich and other hawk watches across the country.
Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.
We will begin with a presentation in Kiernan Hall at our Kimberlin Nature Education Center building, followed by a short walk to the Hawk Watch lawn where you'll learn how to use binoculars and, with some luck, hopefully see a few raptors up close. Bring your own binoculars or borrow one of our loaner pairs. Picnic refreshments will be served on the lawn afterward. All ages are welcome. $5 per person. Please RSVP to Gigi Lombardi at glombardi@audubon.org or 203-930-1351.
*Times, dates, and prices of any activity posted to our calendars are subject to change. Please be sure to click through directly to the organization’s website to verify.
