Hudson Lab School is a progressive, project-based K-8 school located in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. We integrate collaborative, interdisciplinary project-based learning (PBL) and thoughtful self-reflection with the academic fortitude of a classical liberal arts education. Our mission is to instill a love of learning and to teach children how to design and build a life in which they can thrive. Hudson Lab School harnesses the power of interdisciplinary project-based learning to balance the individuality and unique interests of our students with predefined academic objectives. Through collaborative classroom projects, students are not only empowered with a voice and choice in shaping their learning experiences but are also encouraged to cultivate creativity and independence.
While we celebrate this autonomy, we maintain a structured and dedicated focus on foundational skills such as math, reading, and writing, which are taught separately in small, skill-based groups. Our holistic and balanced approach enables our students not only to thrive academically but also to nurture their curiosity and self-expression at Hudson Lab School.
Our afterschool classes ignite curiosity with hands-on learning designed to engage kids through creativity, exploration, and play. Activities include tinkering, robotics, fencing, soccer, bowling, Dungeons & Dragons, and more.
