Join Our Paid Study for Deaf & Hard-of-hearing Children (Ages 6 Months - 5 Years)

We are looking for hearing parents and their Deaf and hard-of-hearing (DHH) children (ages 6 months - 5 years) to participate in a paid user study. The study focuses on developing advanced computer technologies that support the language development of DHH children by promoting ASL use in parent-child interactions.

We are a research group from the Computer Science Department of the University of Rochester. Our team is looking for hearing parents and their deaf and hard-of-hearing (DHH) children to participate in a paid user study. Study Summary:

Goal: Collect feedback on a newly developed computer technology that helps hearing parents sign ASL on-the-fly when interacting with their DHH children
Who: Hearing parents and their DHH children aged 6 months to 5 years
Location: Wegmans Hall, River Campus, University of Rochester
Duration: up to 1.5 hours (we can accommodate your schedule as needed)
Compensation: $50/hour (parking fee will be covered)
Activity: Hearing parents and their child engage in some toy play sessions while using computer technology. We will interview the parents for feedback about the technology.
