Kids on Stage is excited to present Patricia Gray’s play adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s famous novel, The Hobbit.
The Hobbit is set in Middle-Earth and follows the adventures of Bilbo Baggins, who would rather be home sipping tea by the fire than out on the road with a group of rowdy Dwarfs and a mysterious wizard named Gandalf. On their way to steal back a treasure from a dragon, Bilbo and his companions come upon elves, trolls, and a small creature named Gollum.
The Hobbit is full of magic and excitement, with many opportunities for actors to shine onstage.
During this workshop, participants will learn and reinforce basic stagecraft and acting techniques, work on characterization, and experience putting on a production from auditions to performance. This play will have some fight choreography and most actors will create and portray more than one role.
This workshop overlaps with our Stage Crew workshop for The Hobbit.
