A Transformative Educational Experience
The College’s mission is to provide educational access for traditional and nontraditional students. These include students who may be demographically underrepresented in higher education, who have high financial need and/or view themselves as first-generation college students. Mercy challenges each of its undergraduate and graduate students to exceed their personal and intellectual expectations. Mercy's graduates demonstrate success and confidence across professional and vocational spectrums, and the impact they have in their communities or around the globe is testament to an empowering educational experience.
Mercy’s vibrant academic community places a high value on learning outside of the classroom with real-world experiences. This approach to scholarship encourages students to apply what they learn in the classroom with life after graduation. Mercy’s world-renowned faculty work closely with students on these projects.
Mercy is committed to connecting students with the world. The College has a rich tradition of community service through the “Mercy Gives Back” initiative, which encourages students to participate in, and lead, service-learning opportunities. This is a reflection of Mercy’s history and the values contained in the Mercy College seal (Inserviendo Consumere, consumed in service). On-campus events and international travel experiences help students discover and appreciate cultures far from home. Our graduates are engaged citizens.
