At King, we believe that play is the work of young children as it supports pre-literacy and math skills, encourages critical thinking, and helps children develop a strong sense of self. In this three-week series, King School’s early childhood team will scaffold open-ended, play-based activities for parents and children to experience the benefits of purposeful and didactic play.
Participants will enjoy activities centered around art, sensory and dramatic play, building, and storytelling, and will leave each session with ideas for how to support independent purposeful play at home.
Sessions will be led by Jen Agro, an early childhood teaching expert, and her team of co-teachers. She has a great deal of experience in project- based instruction and loves to incorporate visual arts, music, drama, and joyful play into her daily routines. Mrs. Agro has been a prekindergarten teacher at King School for three years.
