What our organization offers:
Ages for which our activities are most appropriate:
Nyack's Little House of Explorers is a welcoming and affirming educational preschool program that centers around child-led project work, social/emotional learning, and hands-on experiences with nature. We welcome children into our indoor and outdoor classrooms and invite them to build relationships with each other, the environment, and their community. We place an emphasis on the arts and creative expression, while nurturing a connection with our local and global communities. Age-appropriate academics are taught within each project, and during a designated period of the day for our Pre-K aged children. Our curriculum, which emerges from the interests of the children, is infused with age-appropriate lessons that will empower each child to ask questions, seek answers, and engage in thoughtful reflection. We hope to inspire lifelong learning that is joyful, as we support children in their quest to connect with the natural world. Our program is available for children ages three to five years old and runs from September through June (rolling admissions), with an additional summer program from July to mid-August.
