Join us Saturday, June 1st at 9AM to be a part of the unique bird banding program. Participants will view and assist the process, learning about conservation, the birds and nature around them.
Bird banding is the process of catching wild birds; identifying their species, relative age, and sex (if possible); and then putting a small, light aluminum band with a unique serial number around one of their legs.
Our Director of Conservation, Steve Ricker, is federally licensed and all of our data is uploaded into a federal database. This information helps us know that our protected habitats are continuing to provide high-quality water, food, and shelter for our wonderful wildlife.
